Titre our actions

The League is entirely focused on systemic political action.

It fights for the abolition of speciesism and advocates for the advent of an anti-speciesist zoopolis.

Real altruism is the guiding principle behind all of itsawareness campaigns. As the successor to the late Henry Spira, it declares that it is inspired by his methods in its political struggle.

Each campaign has a direct, close and integral link with what other animals expect from us, namely the improvement of their legal status and an end to their exploitation in any form whatsoever.

The association may take any action directly or indirectly related to the achievement of its purpose.

For example, the association may:

Concrete actions carried out by the League :

The league organises public awareness campaigns to educate the general public about veganism.

To do this, it shows the reality of animal exploitation in various areas (food, clothing, medical experiments, zoos, etc.) and engages in constructive and respectful dialogue with citizens to draw their attention to their individual responsibility in this exploitation.

The league organises systemic awareness-raising activities on veganism among specific audiences. In this way, it seeks to promote convergence of struggles among all oppressed people.

The L.I.A. works closely with other liberation and social movements whenever possible and draws their attention to the systemic links that exist between the different forms of discrimination and exploitation that humans and other animals have always suffered.

The League organises public actions whose main aim is to impose the concept of anti-speciesism in the social, cultural, economic and political spheres of our societies. The L.I.A. fundamentally fights against the systemic invisibility that the political system applies to the fate of non-human animals.

In other words, it is about making anti-speciesism visible so that it can find a concrete and real societal, cultural and political foothold in our societies and then permeate the sociological imagination of our populations.

The League wishes to officially and publicly call upon civil society, academia, science, politics, the judiciary and the media to recognise the need to move towards an anti-speciesist zoopolis, i.e. a society that is more inclusive of all beings presumed to be sentient.

It is also vigilant in ensuring the dissemination of high-quality information, i.e. information that is accurate and consistent with the advances and conclusions accepted by scientific authorities recognised internationally for their competence, seriousness and integrity.

In this regard, the L.I.A. wishes to highlight the responsibilities of all systemic, political, economic and cultural powers in spreading a speciesist ideology within civil society that legitimises animal exploitation in the minds of all citizens.

The League is available to host debates and public discussions on a specific topic closely related to anti-speciesism and veganism.

It also promotes the convergence of struggles, emphasising that our anti-speciesist political struggle is rooted in other social liberation struggles.

After screening a short video report, the League presents figures and describes the production practices used by the industry in relation to the chosen theme.

We then invite the audience to respond and engage in a respectful intersectional dialogue to raise awareness of the issues raised by the chosen theme.

The League offers its risk and strategy analyses BDA (before, during, after) to any individual or association wishing to take action and intervene on behalf of the animal cause.

The goals stated here are to maximise the efficiency of the actions envisaged while reducing or accepting any potential collateral risks.

The League organises seminars, debates and readings on animal rights and, more specifically, on the promotion of veganism and anti-speciesism, as well as its historical links with all other social liberation struggles.

It also provides spaces for reflection, analysis, study and creativity through its publication ‘La parole antispéciste’ (The Anti-Speciesist Word).

The League offers a series of lectures on animal welfare, veganism and anti-speciesism.

Each series is tailored to the target audience and the wishes of the sponsors.
