However, its position is not dogmatic, and it supports all measures to improve animal welfare that aim to move as quickly as possible towards the abolition of all forms of animal exploitation.
The League condemns all forms of oppression and discrimination perpetrated against all human and non-human animals. It recognises the historical and systemic links between the different forms of discrimination and exploitation suffered by all human and non-human animals.
Although it focuses its activism on the animal cause, the L.I.A. supports all social struggles for liberation.
The League declares its intrinsic solidarity with all social, racial, political and cultural minorities.
The League is an association that is independent of any political or religious affiliation. It also declares itself free from any private or public economic interests.
Anti-speciesism is a political struggle. It aims to grant other animals presumed to be sentient a functional legal personality and the essential rights that come with it.
However, the League does not rule out supporting a politician whose programme contains proposals likely to improve the condition of animals and whose party’s political programme does not contain measures incompatible with the animal-humanist values of the League.
The League supports all forms of initiatives that aim to make diets more plant-based and inform citizens about the harmful consequences of eating meat.
It is not dogmatic. It does not criticise, condemn or ostracise vegetarians or reductionists as long as they declare themselves fully aware of their individual responsibilities in the atrocities involved in carnism and wish to transition to a vegan lifestyle.
The League therefore aims to be inclusive and tolerant. It understands the difficulties faced by everyone and supports all efforts and goodwill to work together, as quickly as possible, towards the abolition of all forms of exploitation and violence towards other animals and towards veganism.
