Team leaders for street outreach in Brussels and across all major cities in Flanders and Wallonia

For this role, you will receive:

  • comprehensive training in street outreach techniques and team management provided by our organisation;
  • start-up financial assistance to purchase the necessary equipment, in the amount of your choice, repayable at 0% interest over a maximum period of 24 months;
  • administrative support with applications for local authority permits and following up on correspondence with local and regional authorities;
  • free legal assistance;
  • on-the-job support designed to help you become self-sufficient in the short term;
  • support from the national coordinator for street outreach, with whom you will work closely;
  • the unwavering support of our organisation.

In return, you will:

  1.   Carry out the tasks assigned to supportersactivists and associate members of our association ;
  2.   Organise at least one awareness-raising event per month in your town ;
  3.   You must respect public order and regional, community and federal laws ;
  4.   Be proficient in street awareness-raising techniques promoting anti-speciesism and veganism ;
  5.   You will be responsible for recruiting activists whose profile and attitude are consistent with the association’s values and objectives ;
  6.   Comply with the guidelines and strategy set out by the national coordinator for street awareness-raising and the association’s board of directors.

This role requires : 

    • To be anti-speciesist, intersectionalist and vegan ;
    • To be convinced that speciesism is a form of systemic oppression ;
    • To be deeply philanthropic and to view speciesist individuals as potential partners to be persuaded in their capacity as voters ;
    • To be convinced that anti-speciesism is primarily a political struggle ;
    • To remain calm in all circumstances and to be able to control your temper ;
    • To understand and be fully familiar with the objectives and philosophy of our association ;
    • To respect the organisation and to value the advice and guidance of our board of directors ;
    • To enjoy leading a team, passing on methods and making decisions ;
    • To enjoy managing people and know how to command respect in a gentle manner ;
    • To be punctual, responsible and methodical, and to have a flair for organising events.
